HEY MORMONS! WE’RE STILL HERE!
You probably know someone who is a Mormon. For sure you have seen their missionaries walking down the street. They are some of the nicest people you will meet. They believe in Jesus Christ. They talk about the Bible. They go to church and live moral lives. They claim to be saved and on their way to heaven.
And yet, it is all a lie.
One of the goals of this website is to tear down lies with the truth of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).
If you are a Mormon reading this, I pray God will open your eyes to the truth of Jesus!
If you are a Christian reading this, I pray God will give you a passion to evangelize Mormons! You at least need to be prepared for when the Mormons come to evangelize you!
I have seen someone convert from Mormonism to Christianity and it is an absolutely beautiful thing!
I also have a friend who, when we were evangelizing Mormons, realized he didn’t know the gospel and became a Christian himself!
To many people, Mormonism seems very similar to Christianity, but it is not! I hope you will see they are actually opposites! Christians are those who follow Jesus in the way he laid out in the New Testament. Mormons also claim to follow Jesus, but in a new way they established in the 1800’s. However, only one of these can be true. Mormonism is actually a false religious system that has now deceived so many.
This is the official story to how the Mormon church began which I got directly from their website here:
“In the spring of 1820, a 14-year-old boy named Joseph Smith went into a grove of trees near his home in Palmyra, New York, and prayed to learn which church he should join. In answer to his prayer, God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to him, just as heavenly beings had appeared to prophets like Moses and Paul in biblical times. Joseph learned that the Church originally organized by Jesus Christ was no longer on the earth.
Joseph Smith was chosen by God to restore the Church of Jesus Christ to the earth. During the next 10 years, Joseph was visited by other heavenly messengers, translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God, and received divine authority to organize the Church. The Church was organized in Fayette, New York, on 6 April 1830, under the leadership of Joseph Smith. It has grown to an organization with members and congregations throughout the world.”
After this official answer, you can read many responses straight from Mormons themselves. Here are a few quotes from what they say:
“Christ’s church was established during His mortal ministry, but fell away after his departure from this life.”
“When He and His apostles were rejected, the fulness of the gospel was again taken from the Earth.”
“Since the gospel was taken from the earth after Christ’s death and resurrection,”
“After the death of the original twelve apostles, there was a “falling away” as Paul wrote to Timothy, and there were no ordained prophets for many centuries. There were many good people throughout this time who were sincere Christians who did their best to worship God without God’s true church being on the earth.”
“Who told Joseph none of the churches were true that were currently on the Earth…”
Mormons claim the original church of Jesus Christ is no longer on the earth and has fallen away. That is why they say we need their “Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.” This claim is a direct contradiction to what Jesus himself says in the Bible in Matthew 16:18:
“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Here Jesus claims that he is going to build his church. He says that even the very forces of hell, Satan and all of his demons, won’t be able to stop him!
So, whose claim are you going to believe? The Mormons claim the church was gone and needed to be restored. Jesus claimed he was going to build the church in a way that could not be stopped. Both claims cannot be true. Someone is lying!
I have asked so many Mormons to explain to me how Matthew 16:18 goes with their claim that the church fell away. Did Jesus lie here? Was he wrong when he said this? Many Mormon missionaries have become frustrated with me at this point because this is not a question that they have been trained to answer. I have asked a professor in a class in one of their universities in Salt Lake City and he could not answer my question. I asked two missionaries on their temple mount and they could not answer my question. In fact, one of them pressed a hidden button and two security guards with ear pieces came and whisked them away so we couldn’t even talk to them anymore! Talk about avoiding the question!
This idea that the gospel was no longer going out into the earth is also directly contradicted by what Jesus says in the Bible! Jesus commissioned his original disciples to make more disciples and said that this process would be taking place to “the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).” Jesus said that the gospel of his death and resurrection “and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.” (Luke 24:47) He made it very clear how this process of spreading the gospel would take place, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) If Jesus was serious about going to “the end of the age” and to “the end of the earth” then it couldn’t possibly end with his original disciples. It must include people like me living thousands of years later on the other side of the planet. The gospel has continued to ring out all across the globe, from generation to generation. Two men told the gospel to MY DAD one day and he passed it on to me. Now I am a pastor at Compass Bible Church, here in Southern California, where we are preaching the gospel and more people are being saved. Jesus is building his church right in front of our eyes! And this is not just happening in our little congregation, the Christian church is global and the gospel continues to ring out!
You can’t stop Jesus. Ever since the New Testament, he has been building his church. His gospel is still saving today.

If you are a Mormon, you are more than welcome to come and visit us! We would love to have you! If you do, what you will see is the original church of Jesus Christ in actionl! If you want to follow Jesus, then please come to a church that follows his original gospel in the one book of the Bible. The truth is we don’t need anything else.
If you are a Christian, please join me in spreading the word that Mormonism is a lie. As hard as Satan and his demons may try, the forces of hell will not win. They can even come up with a false, new church built on the lie that the original church of Jesus has fallen. But let it be known in these dark, latter days… We are still here!
When is it in any case alright to tell someone that their religion is a lie led by demons? How do you expect to make any new converts, especially from Mormonism, with that? Lets turn the tables. If someone were to come out with an article that stated that they are “tearing down the lies of Christianity with science” we would be appalled! I am going on a trip in May to talk to Mormons about their religion and I will never once tell them that they are living a lie. It’s offensive. Also most people who leave the LDS Church become agnostic or atheist because of how turned off they are by what they experienced. I am sure that when you talk to the Mormons you will tell them their religion is wrong in some way. I think we agree on that. However, it sounds like we would disagree on how to say it. I have found it to be very helpful and effective to speak the truth in a straightforward way. I always want to do this with love, including gentleness and respect. This can include calling something a lie and even saying it was from demons when that is what the Bible says. I know that it was right when Jesus did this in John 8:44 and the following verses.

When Jesus was on this earth he told his disciples that before he knew people would reject him. By rejecting him, and making him suffer on the cross, we lost the ability to have the fullness of his gospel until he knew that we were willing to accept the truth. That’s where Joseph smith came in. He was smart, and he knew that he needed to pray for an answer as everyone should. And he prayed asking for the father’s will, and not his own. Just like Jesus. Even though his answer wasn’t one that could easily happen, he still had faith and acted on it as everyone should. Because as the bible says “faith without works is dead”. While I understand you are anti-Mormon because you lead a whole other church, I feel it is any church leaders duty to promote your own church and teach people of your beliefs without comparing it to other religions. As Mormons, we learn about the gospel straight from the scriptures and from our prophet, but we never compare what other church’s beliefs are to ours. It’s not fair to us to force people to be Mormon when they do not know about other religions, so we also encourage everyone to explore the churches around us. I have visited your church a few times now, and I love how you have an emphasize on high moral standards, but I agree that you need to continue to preach more of your religious teachings rather that teach what Mormons say compared to you. As Mormons, we focus on our religion and the truthfulness of our church instead of bringing other religions down. although we do believe that Mormonism is the true religion, it is unchristlike to attack other churches on what they believe. We respect other churches and what they believe because we know how it feels to be persecuted. if you believe that you belong to the correct church, then teach it. but bringing Mormons down isn’t going to teach your people about your church. and by the way, we are Christians

While I think it is great to use Scripture to refute Mormonism, why don’t we use the historical lies of Mormonism to break down this religion? Supposedly in the BM there were great wars and civilizations in America before America was actually Amercia; not one bit of evidence has been found to support this claim. Why don’t we focus on this more? Just a thought.

oh, and if you are going to try and demoralize our church you can at least use its proper name: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This is a great blog post! It is so sad that such a huge group of people can be so close and yet so far from the truth. Many Mormons are acting on blind faith based on feelings, and have not even taken the time to compare their own book to the Bible. Mormons are known for being nice, loving, “good” people. But being nice does not get us into heaven. I pray that Mormons will see past the lies that the devil is telling them and will realize that there is one God: Jesus Christ, who is the only way to heaven.
We are commanded in Scripture to speak the truth directly and with gentleness and love (Ephesians 4:15). Well written, Pastor Bobby, and I am praying for God to use this blog to promote many misguided and misdirected and straight-up WRONG people to come to know God’s Truth and obey it. I lived under a lie, myself, for 11 years. My ego is what kept me denying that for so long. But God used the Bible-His reliable and lasting TRUTH-to open my eyes and escort me into eternity at His side. Praying for Him to do MORE of this. He used the Bible, and He used some faithful disciples to present His Truth to me.
I woke up this morning. Then means He ain’t done yet! Praise the Lord for His unmatchable power and NEVER FAILING. I have a commandment to continue to live out, and that is to bring His Gospel to the ends of the earth.

I have friends in Arizona who are Mormon, and last spring we stayed a night with them, while passing through their state. We got into a discussion on Mormonism, and I told them I take offense to their belief that I, a devote believer in Jesus Christ, will not go to heaven because I am not a Mormon. The Bible says that all who believe in Jesus Christ will go to heaven—–it says nothing about church affiliation. How can they possibly believe we are excluded? Yet, they say they worship the same Jesus. I find it baffling. My friends asked me to read the Book of Mormon, and I said I would read it only if they listened every week to Pastor Mike on the internet, through the summer. I said I knew they wanted to convert me, and I want to convert them—–so there we were. I know they listened, as on occasion, we discussed his sermons, . I know they see the Book of Mormon as an extension of the Bible, but I find it hard to understand how they can really, truly, not doubt? I think we need to be VERY honest with them about the truth about how their religion differs from the gospel, but in a way that is not combative, for that never wins people’s hearts. I liked your comment about the fact that Jesus said his church would always stand. Good thought.
